Here are 10 tips to make it easier to incorporate fruits and vegetables into your family's meals and snacks:

• Wash and cut fresh vegetables after purchasing them. This makes them easier to take with you throughout the week and reduces the risk of them being forgotten and going bad.

• Store fresh, frozen, canned and dried fruits and vegetables in visible locations in the refrigerator, pantry, shelves and countertops.

• Throw away the candy jar! Instead, place a bowl of washed apples, oranges, bananas, and other ready-to-eat fruits on the table.

• Have a sweet tooth? Try eating fruit with yogurt for dessert.

• Add a vegetable tray with dip for a healthy pre-dinner snack.

• Make it a habit to include a side salad with a mix of leafy greens for lunch and/or dinner.

• Add vegetables like spinach, tomatoes, peppers and avocado to sandwiches

• Add vegetables to your pizza.

• Make fruit smoothies for breakfast and snacks.

• Include at least one serving of vegetables and/or fruits in all snacks and meals throughout the day.
