Meet Ernestine Shepherd, the 75-year-old Baltimore native who was named the world's oldest female bodybuilder by the 2011 Guinness Book of World Records.
She runs 10 miles a day, competes in bikini fitness competitions across the country, and even teaches a fitness class at her church.
Shepherd, who decided to take up bodybuilding at the age of 71, said she was inspired by her late sister to get fit after a life in which she was "too squeamish" to exercise.
“Miss Ernie,” as she is known in the world of competitive bodybuilding, gained international attention over the weekend thanks to a feature from the BBC.
“If ever there was an anti-aging pill,” says Shepherd. “I would call it exercise.”
