If you've been trying to change the numbers on your bathroom scale for so long, today may be the day you finally understand what you need to do to melt away extra fat.

Secret #1: There is a target time for exercise

There is no shortage of advice regarding the amount of time you should spend exercising each week. A single visit to a fitness or bodybuilding forum results in a confusing mix of recommendations ranging from 10 minutes a day to 120 minutes a day, 7 days a week.

How long should you exercise to lose weight?

The answer, according to medical studies, is at least 150 minutes per week.

But there's a catch: If you limit yourself to just one type of exercise or physical activity, weight loss will come more slowly or, in some cases, not at all.

To burn fat faster, you would need to include the following in your daily fitness routine: cardiorespiratory exercises (like walking and running), strength training (like weight lifting), physical exercises (like yoga and tai chi), and additional physical activities (like sports).

The answer is simple: keep things exciting! If you start to get bored with your current exercises, your body will also get bored.

Your body is slowing weight loss because you are already nearing your equilibrium state. Your body no longer feels challenged and weight loss stops to maintain your current body weight.

If you want to lose more pounds, you need to start doing things differently.

Here are some tips to shake up your routines:

1.Add more exercisesto surprise your muscles and challenge you whenever you train.

2.INCREASE the frequencyof your sets and reps to break free from your current comfort zone.

3.CHANGE your performanceyour exercises. For example, if you've been doing regular front planks on the floor, add a Swiss ball to increase instability.

4.RELAX more,if you have to. Sometimes we get so focused on losing weight that we forget that our bodies need rest to function properly. If you are physically and mentally stressed because you are exercising too much, you need to take a step back and re-evaluate your fitness program.
