Banana roll liposuction on the rise
There's a new area of your body to become aware of now, ladies: Do you have banana rolls? With celebrities like Kim Kardashian and Nicki Minaj flaunting their famous derrieres, the search for a perfect butt has increased visits to plastic clinics for a procedure called banana roll liposuction!
But what exactly is behind this name? The term “banana roll” refers to the accumulation of fat on the lower buttocks, just below the buttock crease and just above the hamstring. The heavier the soil, the larger the roll of fat, which resembles a banana that forms. But thin women can have them too! Just like saddlebags and muffin tops, banana rolls are genetic and therefore difficult to eliminate with exercise and diet alone.
Banana roll liposuction is a localized liposuction procedure that uses a thin cannula to target these stubborn fat deposits and improve both the size and shape of the buttocks. It is not surprising that the procedure is increasingly in demand, as the tendency to accumulate fat in this area is inherited and therefore often proves resistant to diet and exercise.
The goal of banana roll liposuction is to create better definition between the buttocks and the top of the thighs. It is common to perform fat grafting from the thighs to the butt cheeks at the same time. Ideally, the results are thinner thighs and improvement of the buttocks, making your derriere perkier and better defined.
However, some women who have undergone the procedure are disappointed. The results are not permanent. You should exercise to tone your glutes. Instead of the promised smoother skin, various bumps and lumps may appear.
Banana roll liposuction is not without potential problems and as with all cosmetic procedures that require surgery, there is always the possibility of complications. When it comes to this type of liposuction, less is more! Overtreating the area can produce less than desirable results and can actually result in sagging buttocks.
That's why it's said that banana roll liposuction is both the holy grail of liposuction and a double sword. Too aggressive liposuction in the area can loosen the connective tissue that supports the buttocks. In the worst case scenario, buttock collapse can occur (and yes, that is a term for a real illness)!
