Bruce Lee Workout - The One Thing Bruce Lee Feared

After almost losing a fight, Bruce Lee sat down and gasped. At that moment, he realized that his cardiovascular training was not up to Bruce Lee's training standards.

After this fight, he concluded that aerobic or cardiovascular training is “real world power.” Today, most mixed martial arts fighters have realized the importance of proper cardio training.

Tito Ortiz, a well-known Ultimate Fighting Champion, even trained at Oscar De La Hoya's training camp at Big Bear Lake. And recently the purchase of the property has gone even further for $2.1 million.

Why is this important?

The elevation at Big Bear Lake makes it an ideal location to train for any event. Running at high altitudes is a secret to building endurance for any fight. It is known that Bruce Lee preferred running to other types of endurance training.

He ran every day, rain or shine, determined to maintain his competitive edge.

Bruce Lee training applied the same principle of progressive resistance to cardiovascular exercise as strength training. Bruce believed that all endurance-related activities should be done gradually. He even went so far as to incorporate strength training into his running to make the workout even more challenging.

This type of training was the beginning of today's power walking or heavy hand exercises, in which the person performed aerobic exercises with weights in hand or with a weighted vest to increase the difficulty of performing the cardiovascular exercise.

One of the easiest ways to improve your fighting endurance when training for Bruce Lee was kicking.

Essentially, you step from a chair to the floor and back. The chair should be approximately 17 inches high for men and 14 inches for women.

To do this exercise correctly, lead with your left foot for a minute - then switch to your right foot for another minute - then stop stretching a little. Take a few deep breaths.

Then you would do an arm exercise or an abdominal exercise.

Repeat the chair routine again - as you build endurance and strength, increase the reps over the weeks until you can finally do it for 30 minutes.

Jogging – A Bruce Lee workout favorite

Jogging could be called Bruce Lee's passion. He loved jogging early in the morning, and Lee always carried a pair of running shoes with him to ensure he never missed a day of jogging.

Bruce Lee's training focused on jogging for several reasons.

He felt that jogging placed very little strain on the body and was an exercise that required no equipment and that anyone could do.

In the Bruce Lee Training, he laid out all the reasons why you should jog and exactly how to jog. In future articles I will explain these components.
