A tip for building muscle
If you are looking for an advantage in your muscle building, you need to keep a training diary. A journal can be anything from a .79 cent themed notebook to a workout-related, pre-formatted logbook with everything laid out for you ($5 to $10+). A tip for building muscle
If you are looking for an advantage in your muscle building, you need to keep a training diary.
A journal can be anything from a .79 cent themed notebook to a workout-related, pre-formatted logbook with everything laid out for you ($5 to $10+). As long as you focus on recording the target information (what you trained, what exercises were used, amount of weight, sets, etc.). Personally, I like to use the notebook with a theme and can't tell you why later.
Did you notice above that you want to keep track of the strength you have gained? That's because the best way to gain muscle mass is to constantly gain strength. Think about it, have you ever seen that “little guy” lifting the heavy weights? I didn't think that. Keeping track of your progress is one of the best things you can do to build muscle. This has to be one of the easiest and most cost-effective ways to advertise your training.
On a side note, I prefer to use a 100 page, single topic notebook for my three month training journal. Each day gets a page. On the front of the page you will find training information, on the back you will find personal information (today's diet, mood, energy level or whatever you feel is necessary to record). I also like to use the last ten pages of the notebook to write down my goals for the next ninety days. If you write something down, you will remember it better and it will stick in the back of your mind.
