She makes a leap across presses, a move that targets her shoulders and chest, according to certified personal trainer Brooke Cates, founder and CEO of The Bloom Method (a prenatal and postnatal fitness method), who saw the Instagram post.

In the clip, Swank uses her right arm to squeeze the Multigrip barbell attached to a squat rack across her body on the left side. She begins by slightly bending both knees, and as she moves her upper body, her feet pivot to the left. She straightens her right leg and comes up onto her right toes while keeping her left leg bent and keeping her left heel on the floor in a lunge position. Then she returns to the starting position and looks straight ahead at the equipment.

While the pregnancy and fitness experience is unique, if it's safe for you to exercise during pregnancy, there are many benefits to continuing to sweat well into your third trimester.

"When you constantly stress yourself, you become better able to tolerate larger amounts of stress," certified strength and conditioning specialist Carolyn Appel, CSCS, director of education at PROnatal Fitness, a fitness company that aims to prepare pregnant people for birth and parenthood, said Form. "Therefore, continuing to work when things get more difficult in the third trimester will actually create a more resilient body that can better cope with everyday activities."

Additionally, following a prenatal fitness routine can alleviate common pregnancy problems. "Think about the things that seem scary about pregnancy: the sore back, the swelling, and the interrupted sleep," Emily Skye, a personal trainer and the creator of the Emily Skye FIT pregnancy program, previously told Shape. "Consistent exercise can help relieve back pain by maintaining muscle strength and reduce swelling by keeping circulation going. A workout will also help you sleep better."

If you're pregnant and aren't sure how to incorporate exercise into your routine, Cates has some advice. "Honor your body through all of its changes as you take this opportunity to learn how to better recruit the deep core and pelvic floor both in isolation and in larger movement-based exercises," she says.

Additionally, it is important to scale as needed. “Always [gauge] Whether or not it is "safe" to continue an exercise depends primarily on the ability to regulate increased intraabdominal pressure (IAP)," says Cates. "This will help prevent common pregnancy-related injuries such as injury-related diastasis [recti] and pelvic floor dysfunction, [such as] prolapse and incontinence. [It] provides a more comfortable pregnancy and easier postpartum recovery.”

If you needed some inspiration to hit the gym, whether it's you Pregnant or not, Swank's latest Instagram post is sure to give you a boost of motivation.
