The 42-year-old mother of three shared the advice she received from actress Lynda Carter while filming the 2005 film The Dukes of Hazzard. "She said, 'I'll always be Wonder Woman and be compared to Wonder Woman, and that's what you're doing here as Daisy Duke,'" Simpson explained.

"I've been criticized and it hurts, but I'm any weight and I was proud of it," she said in a recent interview. Not only does Simpson seem to have a positive outlook on all versions of her body, but dealing with people who have talked about her weight over the years was one of the reasons she started her clothing line, she added.

Jessica Simpson's secret to happiness is making time for family and self-care

"I decided, okay, everyone's going to talk about my weight all the time, I might as well make money from it and turn it into a business selling clothes and acceptance."

This isn't the first time Simpson has spoken out about her looks. Earlier this year, she spoke to People about being proud of her body. “I always celebrate my body,” she said in the previous interview. "The fact that he has produced children is unreal... A woman's body is phenomenal in what it can do."

Around the same time, Simpson shared a photo of her in a bikini with a meaningful caption. "I've gained and lost 100 pounds three times so I never thought this moment could or would happen, but I'm finally wearing a BIKINI in the spring!!!!!!" she wrote on Instagram at the time.

Later in her recent conversation with Extra, Simpson revealed that she started working with a nutritionist after giving birth to her third child in 2019. “I had to get my eating habits right,” she told the outlet.

She also worked with trainer Harley Pasternak after giving birth and eventually lost 100 pounds, according to a 2019 Instagram post. Pasternak helped Simpson get her daily steps, achieve a regular sleep schedule and exercise every other day, he previously told Shape. “A solid seven-year pregnancy can make it difficult to get in top shape and stay in top shape,” Pasternak said. “But after the birth of her third child, Jessica was more focused and committed than ever.”

And how is she now? “I feel absolutely healthy,” Simpson said. "I just feel like my old self before I had kids and all the hormones went wild. I actually feel younger...I have a lot more energy."
