Meet our graduate for the month of March, Nathalie Teboul AFPA certified holistic nutritionist
How did you originally get into health and fitness?
I have struggled with an eating disorder in the past. A big part of my recovery was learning about health and nutrition and getting to the point where I understood what my body needed. After recovering, my story began to unfold in 2015.
It was a very difficult and life-changing year for me. Almost everyone in my family has been diagnosed with an illness. My mother has multiple sclerosis, my father and grandmother have lymphoma cancer, my grandfather has Alzheimer's and diabetes, and unfortunately the list goes on.
When I became aware of all these illnesses, I thought to myself, why wait for an illness to change my lifestyle and make healthier choices?
I watched as my mother and grandmother took natural approaches to combat their illnesses. I was fascinated by the health and wellness industry, particularly holistic nutrition.
With all the information I learned, I first decided to quit sugar completely for eight weeks to see what would happen. When I say I'm quitting sugar, I don't just mean I've stopped eating cake and lollipops. I didn't consume 1g of sugar - no fruits, no white carbs, not even tomatoes or balsamic vinegar.
During these extremely difficult eight weeks I lost 10 kg and have never felt better in my entire life, not only physically but also mentally. Since then, I became obsessed with creating healthy recipes that I could share with my loved ones, knowing they wouldn't make their illnesses worse.
I have a deep desire to help others so that they don't fall into the same trap I did, so that they can live freely with food and not give in to diet culture or extremes when it comes to food.
Which certification did you choose and why did you choose AFPA?
I ended up enrolling in the AFPA Holistic Nutritionist Certification Program and absolutely loved it. I chose AFPA because I really enjoyed the courses and modules and they really interested me on paper. It is also an extremely convenient and affordable course that can be taken anywhere.
What was your career like before certification?
Before I became certified, I studied business and marketing while also working on my Instagram and recipes.
How is your career now?
Today I work in a marketing role for a healthcare company in Paris. I also just launched my holistic nutrition advice website and food blog, which is really exciting. I now have a digital platform where I can help people around the world.
What are your favorite parts of your career?
I love being able to create new recipes and blog posts and share my ideas and philosophy with others to change people's lives for the better. It's an incredible feeling knowing that you are helping people make positive and healthy changes in their lives.
How has becoming certified with AFPA impacted your life?
Through AFPA, I learned how to coach clients who want to not only prevent but reverse chronic disease and how to achieve optimal health through natural approaches. How incredible is that?
Do you have any customer success stories you would like to share?
So far I'm working with my first client; She's been on her diet for a week and has lost 1.5kg thanks to my help! This is so incredible!!
What advice would you give to others thinking about certification?
