In addition to the other highlights of Selena Gomez's resume (see: actress, Grammy-nominated singer, and beauty entrepreneur), you can now add co-founder of a mental health company to the list. Gomez just announced the launch of her latest project, Wondermind, a multimedia platform focused on improving and maintaining “mental fitness” through free, expert-backed content, tools, and resources.

The Only Murders in the Building actress revealed in a recent interview on Good Morning America that the platform's goal is to "destigmatize and democratize" mental health. “I really want people to be understood, seen and heard,” Gomez said in the interview. “It’s okay not to be okay.”

Gomez has always been transparent about her own mental health journey, and last year she revealed that she had been diagnosed with bipolar disorder (a mental disorder characterized by changes in mood and energy levels). "It was really liberating to have the information," Gomez said of her bipolar disorder diagnosis during her recent GMA interview. "It made me really happy because I started having a relationship with myself and I think that's the best part." (Related: Selena Gomez Opens Up About Being Body-Shamed Over Lupus Battle Weight Gain)

The "Lose You to Love Me" singer also admitted that she has boundaries on social media to prioritize her mental health, which she has also discussed in the past. “I haven’t been on the internet for four and a half years,” she said in a recent interview. While the artist helps curate the content on her social media profiles, she is not the one who actively keeps up with the platforms. “It completely changed my life,” she said in the interview. "I'm happier, more present and connect more with people. It makes me feel normal."

For the launch, Gomez teamed up with her mother Mandy Teefey and Daniella Pierson, the founder and CEO of women-focused media company The Newsette. Pierson, who shared that she suffers from obsessive-compulsive disorder (a condition that causes intrusive thoughts and excessive cravings), and Teefey, who admitted she deals with ADHD and "a lot of trauma," also opened up about their experiences with mental health during the GMA interview.

“[Wondermind] is for anyone with feelings who wants to feel understood, loved and cared for,” Pierson said on GMA. “You should work on your mental fitness just like you work on your physical fitness.”

All three women spoke passionately about mental health during the brief interview and shared how their new business came to be. "And on those days when I don't want to get out of bed, when I've had something like Wondermind, even though it took me a minute to get into it, it's just there, and there's something really calming about that."
